C’EST FINI! That’s a wrap on Chapter 5 - False Gods!!!
I’m really, really proud of how this one turned out. Phew. When I started the comic, I hoped I would become a good enough artist through the process of making it that this scene could have the impact it deserved, and I think I really managed it!!
Now that it’s no longer spoilers, I can tell you that the original inspiration for Godflesh was a dream I had, about a gentle king who was skewered to death in his bath by giant bones exploding from the floor. It was scary but very striking, and I wanted to explore that image through a story! I started doodling Keiru the next day in biology class, and the rest is history.
Chapter 6, you ask? I don’t want to take too much of a break this time! My plan is to take August off for other projects (cough cough animation industry portfolio), and start working on it in September properly. I probably won’t be posting any pages publicly until November. But the cover image for Chapter 6 is going up there very soon!
It won’t be long for more of this story!

that’s such a cool inspiration for this story! this whole chapter felt a bit like a dream sequence. i’d love to know more about the mythology of the world – how much of it is based on real mythology? what gods will make an appearance, and in what form?
more than happy to follow you to a website – i am not enamoured with webtoon as i was years ago – there’s a lot of published slop on there and they don’t promote some of the genuinely incredible canvas stories nearly as much as they should. to be honest the originals page feels like a content farm of recycled reincarnation stories and love triangles and i am so over it. i’m excited to read more of this story – the art is so cute ! i’ll check back in in a few months and read the next chapter haha (no shade, take your time diva :))
